Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh jumped with joy when Rohit Sharma scored a six during a recent IPL match in Mumbai. A viral clip of the moment shows the actor mouthing 'Yes!' as the cricketer scored. He was donning a purple floral shirt with a matching pair of pants. The actor had also posted several pictures of himself in that same outfit on Instagram.

Batter Virat Kohli scored a half-century to take the Royal Challengers Bangalore to 170/6 against Gujarat Titans In IPL. Kohli managed to hit two boundaries, one after another. The right-handed batter finally got fifty runs in the 13th over, after as many as fourteen IPL matches. He scored his first fifty in 45 balls. Rajat Patidar also managed to score 52.

A huge fine has been imposed on the Lucknow Super Giants as they maintained a slow over-rate in their IPL match against the Mumbai Indians. KL Rahul, the team captain, was fined 24 lakhs while the other teammates were fined 6 lakhs or 25% of their respective match fee, whichever amount is lower. The Lucknow Super Giants defeated the Mumbai Indians in the match though.

In UP's Sambhal district, police arrested five persons for alleged involvement in IPL betting, on April 10. The accused identified as Shahvez, Jahangir, Hilal, Jafar and Farhaz were nabbed, stated Superintendent of Police, Chakresh Mishra. He further stated that, three laptops, Rs 17,000 cash and calculators were seized from their possession. Further details in the matter are awaited after investigation.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni stepped down as the captain of team Chennai Super Kings and passed over the torch to fellow veteran Ravindra Jadeja. Mahendra Singh Dhoni has has led the team in twelve seasons of IPL including four title wins and five runner-up finishes. "Jadeja who has been an integral part of CSK since 2012, will only be the third player to lead CSK," read a statement released by CSK.
