Indian Apple Growers Join Hands To Stop Iranian Apple 'Smuggling'
To end illegal ‘dumping’ of Iranian apple in India, apple growers of Himachal Pradesh, J&K and Uttarakhand have formed the Hill State Horticulture Forum. Reportedly, the foreign apples are smuggled via Afghanistan, dodging import duties which makes them cost just Rs 40-50/kg when they reach Delhi, severely affecting the market of local producers.
