In a viral video, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, India has ancient roots and Indian Muslims were first Hindus, as Hinduism is way older than Islam. The video which is now making rounds on social media witnesses Ghulam Nabi Azad saying, "all individuals were initially associated with Hinduism in this nation." The statement was made during a gathering in Thatri region of Doda district.

Jabalpur Baseball Player Hanged Herself To Death, 1 Arrested

In a shocking incident, a national baseball player hanged herself in Jabalpur, police arrested Rajan alias Abdul Mansoori from Rewa on charges of abatement to suicide. The victim Sanjana Barkade befriended with Mansuri, who worked as a street vendor in Rewa. He posed as Hindu and started chatting.  Later, he met Sanjana and clicked photos and recorded videos with her and started threatening her to convert to Islam.

Protests Against Hijab Law Intensifies In Iran, Schoolgirls March Without Headscarves

In Iran, several schoolgirls have joined the protests that have swept Iran since the death of a woman who was detained for breaking the hijab law. On October 5, the hijab protest intensified, with videos verified by the BBC showing teenage students marching on streets, waving their headscarves in the air.  They demonstrated the protest inside schoolyards and on the streets, raising voices against the Hijab-law in Islam.

Karnataka HC Verdict On Hijab Row, Upholds Restrictions

Karnataka HC announced their judgement over the ongoing Karnataka Hijab Row, pending since January 5.  The court upheld the restrictions imposed by pre university, and said wearing Hijab is not an essential part of the Islamic community. The HC bench comprising Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Krishna S Dixit and JM Khazi announced the verdict, on March 15. The court bench dismissed all the petitions filed against the restrictions.

Mob At Pakistan's Punjab Province Attempts To Lynch Man Over Alleged Blasphemy

In Muzaffargarh city (Pakistan's Punjab province), an angry mob attempted to lunch a man over alleged blasphemy. The police rescued the man and transported him to an undisclosed location for his safety, reported Dawn Newspaper. The complaint claimed that the man was seen burning pages of Quran in front of a mosque Alipur Tehsil, near Jamal area. Punjab has seen a rise in mob lynching cases, reported ANI.

Uttarakhand Police Files FIR Against Wasim Rizvi Over Hate Speech

Uttarakhand police registered a case against Wasim Rizvi, who recently turned Hindu, named as "Harbir Singh Narayan Tyagi".  The case has been registered under the Section 153A of IPC, for his " Hate Speech" at an event in Haridwar, Uttrakhand. As per police they filed the FIR taking cognizance of hate speech video, which is going viral on social media. Notably, Rizvi allegedly gave provocation speech against a specific religion.

UAE Changes Workweek To Mon-Fri From Sun-Thurs

The United Arab Emirates made a major change in its system by declaring its workweek from Monday to Friday, making it one of the few places in the middle east to follow Western hours. It'll come into effect from January 1, 2022. The country currently has a Sunday to Thursday working week. Besides, the government employees will work half-day on Friday, a traditional Muslim holy day in Islam.

Execution & Amputation Likely To Return As Laws In Afghanistan: Taliban

In an interview with Associated Press, Taliban leader Mullah Nooruddin Turabi confirmed that Executions and Amputations will soon return as laws in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime. Mullah stated, "we will follow Islam and we will make our laws from the Quran" and justified punishments like cutting off hands as well. Fearing the return of harsh Taliban rules, many Afghans still continue to try and flee Afghanistan.
