Poliovirus Detected In 7 Pakistani Cities; Cases Expected To Surge
Poliovirus has been detected in several provinces across seven cities in Pakistan, confirmed Federal authorities on August 2. The confirmation has reportedly been given after carrying out tests on environmental samples collected from various cities. Reportedly, some of the samples were collected from sewage streams. In 2022, Pakistan detected its first case of Polio on April 22, and now, the cases are expected to surge.

Spying Attempt On Former Pak PM Imran Khan Foiled; Accused Caught Red-Handed
A spying attempting on former Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been foiled, as the accused was caught red-handed. Reportedly, the accused, a cleaner, was paid money to install a spying device in Khan's bedroom. Another worker caught him while he was trying to install it, who then informed the security personnel. Earlier, Imran Khan had stated that his life is in danger, and that people are plotting to eliminate him.

Canadian MP Tom Kmiec Accuses Pak Army For Having 'Terror Links'
Canadian MP Tom Kmiec has slammed Pakistan's Army chief with seirous charges, which what's received both admiration and criticism. Kmiec accused Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Bajwa for having "terror links". He furthered accused the Pakistan Army for human rights abuses. Imran Khan's Azadi March Reaches Islamabad, Gives Govt 6 Days Time To Announce Polls: Pakistan
Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan's Azadi march reached the capital city of Islamabad, on May 26. Imran Khan addressed the march, and warned the central government. He said that if the election dates are not announced within six days, he will return to Islamabad. The Pakistani Army was deployed in Islamabad, to prevent the march from reaching Supreme Court and Prime Minister's residence.

Pak President Administers Oath To 3 Federal Members & 1 Minister Of State
Three new federal members and one minister of State for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, took oath, on April 22. The oath ceremony was administered by President Arif Alvi, and took place at the Aiwan-i-Sadr in Islamabad. Reportedly, PM Sharif was seated next to the president, in the ceremony. Chaudhary Salik Hussain, Agha Hassan Baloch, Javed Latif and Hashim Notezai were the new inductees.

Pakistan PM Summons US Diplomat For Interference In 'Internal Issues'
Pakistan PM Imran Khan summoned a senior diplomat of the US and lodged a serious protest in Islamabad, on April 1. As per PTI, Imran Khan alleged US officials of hatching conspiracy to remove Khan from power in Pakistan. He also mentioned receiving a 'threat-letter'. India & Pakistan To Hold Meeting Over Indus Water Dispute
The annual meeting of the Permanent Indus Commission (PIC) between India and Pakistan, will be held from March 1 to 3. On February 28, the Indian delegation reached Pakistan for the meeting, via Wagah border, reported ANI. Indian Water Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Saxena will reportedly head the Indian delegation in the three-day meeting. Water disputes between the two nations will be discussed in the meeting.

The father of Pakistan's nuclear programme AQ Khan passed away at the age of 85 in Islamabad due to age-related issues on October 10. He was rushed to Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) Hospital after complaining about breathing difficulty in the morning, said media reports. Meanwhile, Pakistan Defence Minister Pervez Khattak said, ''Pakistan will forever honour his services to the nation!'' ''It is a great loss,'' the minister added.

Pakistan: Hindus Allowed To Build Long-stalled Krishna Temple
Pakistan's state-run Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has allowed Hindus to build the long-stalled Krishna Temple in Islamabad.
