Infosys's Non-Compete Clause Unenforceable, Say Lawyers

The newly invoked non-compete clause by Infosys is not enforceable, according to several lawyers and recruiters. The clause prohibits new-comers from working on the same customer's projects across named rival companies for a certain phase of time since leaving the company. This move comes amid sky-high attrition. However, the IT giant has described this as a standard business practice, adding that it won't affect one's career growth.

India Becomes Largest Startup Hub In World: PM Modi At Kanpur IIT Convocation

PM Narendra Modi addressed the 54th convocation of IIT Kanpur, on December 28.  During the event, PM Modi said, "Today India has become the largest startup hub in the world". PM emphasised on growth of the IIT sector since 2014, after BJP came into power. In the past seven years, the Centre also launched schemes and initiatives, 'paving new roads for youth,' said Modi, who is in Kanpur.

Spending In India's IT Sector To See A $93 Billion Boost In 2021: Report

IT service management company Gartner has predicted a massive spending boost of $93 billion in India's IT sector in 2021. The prediction reported 7.3% increase from 2020 figures which is lower than the global average increase of 8.4%. Devices and enterprise software sector will see the highest growth as businesses continue to innovate their workforce, it added. Notably, Cloud will garner the major software growth in India during 2021.
