ITBP Officer Shoots Himself With Service Weapon In J&K's Poonch
In J&K's Poonch district, an ITBP officer shot himself dead with his service weapon, while on duty. Reportedly, the incident occurred at Mini-Secretariat in Poonch Town, and Prem Chand was posted as Assistant Sub-Inspector of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Immediately after the incident, Chand was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Further details on the matter is awaited.

8 ITBP Women Troops Inducted To Train, Handle, Deploy Malinois Dogs
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has inducted eight women personnel to train, deploy and handle Malinois dogs. These dogs are specialised in protecting civilians and assisting in anti-naxal operations. Around eight three-year-old pups will now undergo various tactical training programmes with their respective women handlers. Notably, the ITBP's 90,000 personnel guard the 3,488 km-long Indo-China border.

Major Accident In Tidong Hydropower Project Leaves 2 Dead, 3 Injured: Himachal
In a tragic Incident, two workers lost their lives and three other were injured in a severe accident at Tidong Hydropower project at Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur, on May 7. Reportedly, a trolley carrying five men inside the tunnel, slipped and fell to hundreds of feet crossing a slope of 45 to 50 degrees. Following the incident, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) rescued the injured and admitted them to a hospital.

ITBP Himveers Perform Yoga At 15,000 Feet In Himalayan Mountains
The Himveers of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) performed yoga at a height of 15,000 feet in the snow-capped Himalayan mountains. The ITBP noted that the yoga session was organised in view of the fast-approaching International Yoga Day. The International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on the 21st of June. 'Yog Utsav' was observed this year at the Red Fort earlier this on 7th April.

CAPF, BSF & SSB To Sell Alcohol Online Following ITBP
Border guarding forces such as the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) are set to sell liquor online to their staff. Reportedly, the trial run for the same has been started. The system will be centralised, allowing CAPF staff to book liquor online and pick from other canteens. However, the Indio-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has already been selling liquor online.

"Modern Search And Rescue" Technique Included In Training Module: ITBP
To update its training modules, the Indo Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) on October 29 introduced a ''modern search and rescue operation''. The introduction of the module will help ITBP jawans to handle different situations from Ladakh to Arunachal. "The purpose of modern rescue training is to make our troops able to take minimum time during rescue operations in any incident," said I.S Duhan, ITBP Inspector General.

Gallantry Medals Awarded To 20 ITBP Personnel For Bravery
The Indian government has awarded gallantry medals to 20 India-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel for bravery who fought China's People's Liberation Army (PLA). Indians and Chinese troops reached a standoff in Eastern Ladakh's Galwan Valley in 2020. "This is the highest number of gallantry medals awarded for the bravery of its men in border face-offs, skirmishes, and border guarding duties", ITBP spokesperson Vivek Kumar Pandey said.

Delhi HC Rejects ITBP Personnel Redeployment Plea In Afghan
The plea filed by personnel from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to be redeployed in Afghanistan has been denied by the Delhi HC. Despite the ongoing “disturbing situation” in Afghanistan, the petition filed by at least 30 personnel “amazes us,” said the HC. “They have no vested right to be deployed in Afghanistan,” said the bench of justices Rajiv Sahai Endlaw and Amit Bansal.

ITBP Ropes In Retired Canines As 'Therapy Dogs' To Serve At Hospitals
