Imran Khan Has Serious Death Threat In Jail, Says Report

Pakistan's Former PM and Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi has alleged that her husband is a severe threat of prison. In a report, ex-PM Khan's wife said, The report further said, "The former premier’s wife submitted an affidavit to the Apex court through Advocate Syed Rifaqat Hussain Shah, after meeting Imran in Attock jail on August 22." Notably, Khan is arrested and jailed for a scam.

Pak Minister Gets Facilities At Jail After Arrest

Pakistan's former PM Imran Khan has been kept in a small bug-infested cell with an open washroom in the high-security Attock jail after his conviction and arrest in a corruption case. Khan’s attorney Naeem Haider Panjotha said that the 70-year-old Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman has been provided C-class facilities in the jail in Punjab province.

Manish Sisodia Allowed To Take Gita, Medicines In Jail

Remanded till March 20 with the CBI, former Deputy CM of Delhi and AAP leader Manish Sisodia has asked for a meditation cell in jail.  Furthermore, Manish Sisodia, the prime accused in the Delhi Liquor scam has also asked for a 'Gita' to be allowed in the cell, where he will be shifting until March 20. Furthermore, the court also allowed the AAP leader to carry medicines and other necessities.

Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani has been convicted of unlawful assembly over a 2017 rally. A magisterial court in Gujarat has convicted ten people, including MLA  Jignesh Mevani, for carrying out a rally in Mehsana back in 2017. The Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, J A Parmar, noted, “it is not an offence to hold (a) rally but it is an offence to hold (a) rally without permission."

Undertrial Prisoner Died In Moradabad Jail, Investigation Launched

 In Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad district, an undertrial prisoner identified as Horilal Valmiki (30) died while in police custody.  As per PTI, he was arrested in a case of sexual harassment of women case and died of illness on April 29, confirmed, Sambhal SP Chakresh Mishra. Furthermore, a postmortem report was conducted, but it didn't clear the cause of death. After the incident, the judicial officer launched an investigation.

Women Inmates Of Indore Central Jail Make Organic Holi Colours

Women inmates of Indore Central jail made organic Holi colours out of fruits, vegetables and flowers. The inmates adapted the new skill from the NGOs who visited them, said Alka Sonar, jail superintendent. Reportedly, the raw materials provided to them were grown inside the premises. Sonar further stated that the skills these inmates have acquired will be used to make a livelihood once they are out.

Accused Gets Released Due To Lack Of Evidence After Spending 19 Yrs In Jail: Odisha

Habil Sindhu, an accused of triple murder case through black magic in 2003, was released by Mayurbhanj District Court, after serving 19 years of imprisonment. Sindhu was awarded life imprisonment in 2005 by the District and Sessions Judge, reported ETV Bharat. However, the case was reopened following the order of Orissa High Court. The court released Sindhu saying there isn't enough evidence against him.

US Demands China To Release Citizen Journalist Zhang Zhan From Jail

The United States demanded an ''unconditional release'' of citizen journalist Zhang Zhan from Chinese jail as her health condition is getting worse day by day that can lead her to death. Zhan was awarded four years of jail for reporting the COVID-19 outbreak in February 2020 from Wuhan. She started an intermittent hunger strike in protest of her jail in may last year, reported BBC.
