The video in question was claimed to feature Sehaj Arora, the proprietor of the establishment, and his spouse. However, Arora has vehemently denied these allegations and has lodged a formal complaint with the police.

First-Year Student From Lovely Professional University Dies By Suicide In Punjab’s Jalandhar; Protests Erupt

In Punjab’s Jalandhar, a first-year student studying at Lovely Professional University died by way of suicide on September 20. The police reportedly received a call at around 5:30, regarding the demise of a first-year B. Design student. A suicide note has been recovered from the spot, which cites “personal reasons”. A large amount of students stormed the university campus to stage a protest.

Two Students In Hostel Fall Off Second Floor After Scuffle During B'day Party: Punjab

In Punjab's Jalandhar, a birthday party turned tragic, when two boys in hostel entered into a scuffle, which ended in both falling off the second floor. Reportedly, the clash sparked due to an issue of contribution of money. While one died on spot, the other is undergoing treatment. Both the students hailed from Bihar, and a case under Section 304 of IPC has been filed against the hospitalised boy.

Vijay Sampla Resumes Office As Chairman Of NCSC: Punjab

BJP leader Vijay Sampla has been appointed as the chairperson of National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), on April 27. The appointment was administered by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind. Notably, Sampla a prominent 'Dalit leader' in Punjab, had resigned from his office to contest in Punjab assembly polls. After AAP won the polls and formed the government in the state, Sampla has returned to his previous office.

AAP Activist Shot By 2 Assailants On Motorcycle: Punjab

Vipin Kumar, an AAP activist in Punjab, was shot at by two assailants on a motorcycle, on the Phagwara-Jalandhar National Highway, on April 4. Immediately after the incident, Kumar was rushed to a civil hospital in Phagwara, and was later shifted to a facility in Jalandhar Cantonment, reported PTI. Following the incident, several AAP activists arrived at the hospital, and demanded arrest of the assailants.

Arvind Kejriwal To Visit Punjab For Two Days: Punjab Poll 2022

Ahead of the upcoming Punjab Assembly election, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is set to visit the state on his two-day visit, starting from December 15. Meanwhile, Mr. Kejriwasl will attend Trianga Yatra and Public meetings in Jalandhar and Lambi. Reportedly, he has promised to provide Rs 1,000 monthly to every woman of the state above the age of 18 years if Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) comes to power.

Delhi Police Denies Wrestler Sushil Kumar's Arrest Claims

The Delhi Police on May 23 refuted media reports which claimed that absconding murder accused Sushil Kumar and his associate Ajay Kumar were arrested from Jalandhar. As of now, the police have sent ten teams to Punjab and Haryana for conducting raids to nab the wrestler. Besides, security guards, who were deployed at Chhatrasal Stadium during Kumar's brawl that led to the murder, have also been replaced with CISF personnel.
