Kiran Bhai Patel, a scam artist pretended to be a senior member of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and met with influential figures in the Union territory.  He was detained by the J&K Police, on March 16. This is not the first time Patel did something like this. Earlier also he has pretended to be a government official an travelled to the Kashmir Valley, Srinagar Uri and other regions.

In Jammu and Kashmir, a revenue officer was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from a tout for issuing documents of a plot of land. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Ashok Sharma, after carrying a sting operation.  The bribe case was registered against Sharma, as he demanded Rs 25 lakh for legal proceedings. Notably, the ACB is conducting an investigation and also arrested another Bhagat and tout.

In Jammu & Kashmir's Kupwara district, the security forces have seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from a village near the Line of Control (LoC). The information was confirmed by the union territory police on April 19. As per PTI, the police recovered 10 pistols, 17 pistol magazines, 54 pistol rounds, and five hand grenades. Notably, the search operation was carried out after intelligence input.

Jammu & Kashmir police confirmed the killing of two LeT terrorists of LeT. "1 more terrorist killed (total 2). Both the terrorist are locals and linked with LeT proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF. They were involved in several terror crimes," said Kashmir Zone Police. The encounter broke out between Jammu and Kashmir police force and terrorist group in Kulgam district, on morning of January 4.
