A BSF personnel was injured in unprovoked firing by the Pakistani Rangers along the International Border (IB) in the Ramgarh sector of Samba district on early Thursday, a senior official said. The firing targeting Border Outposts in the district is the third ceasefire violation in 24 days by the Pakistani Rangers along the IB on the Jammu frontier. One BSF personnel suffered injuries and was evacuated to a local hospital.

Supreme Court on September 5, reserved its judgement on a batch of petitions filed in a long-pending case challenging the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution that gave a special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. The petitioners also challenged the J&K Re-organisation Act which was utilised to bifurcate the state into two Union territories.

The Pulwama Terror Attack has triggered the scrapping of Article 370, in Jammu and Kashmir. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on August 5, claimed she and some senior leaders of her party were placed under house arrest while several others were detained on the fourth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370. In Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam region, an army jawan goes missing. An army Jawan was reported missing from Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, said official on July 30. Javaid Ahmad Wani, a resident of Achathal area of Kulgam district, had gone missing. Wani, posted in Ladakh region, was on leave. His car was found in Paranhall later last evening and reports claimed that blood was found from his car.

In Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, four terrorists were killed in an encounter, on July 18. An encounter broke out after a joint operation launched by police force, security officials, special army force and Rashtriya rifles, in Poonch. Soon open firing started, resulting in the death of four foreign terrorists, whose identities are yet to be known. The first firing and drone attack took place on July 17, 11:30 pm.

The Supreme Court ordered to conduct of day-to-day hearings of all the PILs, and pleas related to Article 370.
