In another incident of targetted attack, a Kashmiri Pandit was shot dead in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian area said reports.  The victim was identified as Puran Krishan Bhat, son of Tarak Nath Bhat and was a resident of Choudry Gund in the town. Notably, on October 15, Puran Krishan Bhat succumbed to injuries, confirmed sources. Furthermore, the officials said that the area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

In Jammu and Kashmir administration, four government employees, including police personnel, a bank manager were dismissed from services. On October 15, the administration fired the employees for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities, said a spokesperson. In Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district, four local terrorists were killed, confirmed police on October 5. As per ANI sources, terrorists, proscribed with terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, were killed in two separate encounters in the region. In Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla region, an encounter broke out between militants and security forces. The encounter which occurred in the wee hours of September 30, was in view of intelligence inputs of terrorist hiding in villages of Baramulla district. Furthermore, the encounter and joint operation is underway, said Jammu and Kashmir Police. In addition, more details in this regard is awaited. 

In Jammu & Kashmir's Kulgam district, a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces. On September 26,the police confirmed killing of JeM terrorist, two civilians and a soldier were also injured in the encounter. Security forces launched a cordon operation in Batpora following information about the presence of terrorists there, which led to an open-fire gunfight, resulting in an encounter.
