2 IAS Officers Among 288 Test Positive For Covid-19: J&K

In the Jammu region, two senior IAS officers among 288 have been tested COVID-19 positive, where six more micro-containment zones were declared on January 7. Amid the rise in cases, all kinds of leaves of health-workers, other staff in Jammu Govt Medical College, and Associated hospitals were cancelled. Reportedly, Union Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh is going to take a review of the emerging COVID-19 situation.

E-Autos To Soon Operate In Jammu; JSCL Invites Tenders

Under the smart city projects, tenders have been invited to procure e-autos by the Jammu Smart City Ltd (JSCL), said officials in Jammu. The Electric vehicles would operate on 41 identified routes to reduce the dependence on petrol or diesel vehicles. Reportedly, the government will also provide subsidies to replace auto-rickshaws with e-autos. Besides, it is planning to float the tender to procure 200 e-buses.

Terrorist Dies In Encounter Between Security Forces-Militant In Poonch: J&K

On December 14, a terrorist was killed in an encounter between the Indian Army and militants. Broke out in the Behramgala region of Poonch district, the encounter was based on an intelligence input of the of militants in the region. The security officials cordoned off the area and started search operation. However, they recovered one AK-47 rifle, four magazines and pouches by the troops, confirmed the authority.

Jammu Administration Set To Reimpose Night Curfew: COVID-19

The district administration of Jammu has decided to reimpose a night curfew due to an increase in COVID-19 positivity rate in the winter capital from November 17. The positivity rate has increased by 0.2% in the city. ''The district disaster management authority (DDMA) imposes night curfew from 10 PM to 6 AM,'' said Anshul Garg District Magistrate. He also warned people of strict action upon not following the rules.

First COVID-19 Jab Is Mandatory To Visit Public Places In Jammu

The Deputy Commissioner of Jammu on September 20 announced that the COVID-19 vaccine's first dose will be necessary for every adult in Jammu if they want to enter into any government offices and other public places. However, the decision will come into effect from October 2 onwards. Furthermore, the commissioner allowed the opening of shops and businesses until 10 PM and now 50 people can gather in Benguet hall.
