Woman Constable, Mother & Daughter Found Dead In Police Quarters: Jamshedpur
In Jharkhand's Jamshedpur, bodies of a woman constable, her mother and daughter were found at police lines quarters, on July 22. Reportedly, the officer was not seen for the past two days. According to the police, the door of the house was locked from the outside. Meanwhile, forensic team reached the spot and an investigation on the matter is underway.

Massive Fire Breaks Out At Tata Steel Factory In Jamshedpur; At Least 2 Injured
Following a blast in a battery, a massive fire broke out at a coke plant of Tata Steel factory in Jamshedpur, on May 7. Following the incident, two employees who sustained minor injuries were admitted to a hospital, and another person who complained of chest pain was also admitted. Reportedly, several fire tenders and ambulances rushed to the spot to douse the fire and provide assistance.

Man Brutally Killed By Son Over Property Dispute: Jamshedpur
In Jharkhand's Jamshedpur, a 65-year-old man was brutally murdered by his 40-year-old son over a property dispute. Reportedly, the father refused to give a share of his paddy field to his son. The incident happened in East Singhbhum's Duaridih village, after a heated argument between the duo. Patamda Police filed a case against the accused and nabbed him from his relative's house. An investigation regarding the same is underway.

Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta Tests COVID Positive Again
Banna Gupta, Jharkhand Health Minister, tested positive for the novel Coronavirus for a second time on January 8. He had contracted the virus for the first time in August 2020. "I was not feeling well for the past few days and got tested, the report came out positive," Gupta tweeted in Hindi. Reportedly, Banna Gupta has been isolated at his home in Jamshedpur.

Jharkhand Police Confiscates 70 Kg Ganja From NH33 Worth 9 Lakhs
During a vehicle inspection on National Highway 33 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand police confiscated 70 kg of ganja from a four-wheeler on October 30. As per the East Singhbhum district police, the recovered contraband is worth more than Rs 9 lakhs. However, according to the authorities, passengers in the car escaped leaving the vehicle behind. Moreover, a case has been filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Jharkhand High Court Grants Bail To Maulana After A Year Of Jail
The Jharkhand High Court has granted bail to Maulana Kalimuddin Muzahiri who was arrested under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) over a year ago. The court found no evidence against Maulana that could prove his linkage with Al Qaeda, which was the basis of his arrest. Maulana was also been booked for doing "anti-national works as a jihadi". However, he cannot leave Jamshedpur without permission of the lower court.

Jharkhand: Bars Resume Operations After Securing 50% Waiver In License Fee
Bars in Jharkhand reopened on November 3 after the state government assured to waive the annual license fee by 50%. Even though the bars were allowed to reopen from November 1 itself, they observed a shut down on November 1 and 2 as a part of protest against the high license fee. The Jharkhand government charges Rs 9 Lakh as an annual license fee from the bars.
