After ruled out news of Rohit Sharma, India's ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah and batter Shreyas Iyer are looking to mark their comeback in India's squad for the Asia Cup 2023. Sources revealed that Bumrah has been out of action since September 2022 owing to a back injury and and Iyer will be selected in the team for ODI matches in Sri Lanka and Pakistan, starting in October.

Former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, who is also a part of the Pakistan selection panel, in a controversial statement compared Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi. Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah finally spoke about being ruled out of T20 Internationals, ICC World Cup. On October 4, Bumrah took to Twitter and said, "I am gutted that I won’t be a part of the T20 World Cup this time, but thankful for the wishes, care and support I’ve received from my loved ones." He also said, he would be cheering for team India, after being partially recovered.

India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the T20-World Cup due to a back stress fracture, confirmed sources on September 29.  Absence of Bumrah from the tour will be a massive blow to team's chances at the ICC flagship event starting from November in Australia.
