JD(U) MP Harivansh will continue as the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, even after the exit of JD(U) from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA)- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.) The clarification came after the buzz over political positions in Delhi's parliamentary posts. On condition of anonymity, said, those who are on constitutional posts, don't belong to any party while discharging their duties, therefore "Why should Harivansh resign?"

JD(U) Expels Spokesperson Ajay Alok & 3 Others Over 'Anti-Party' Activities: Bihar
In Bihar, ruling party Janata Dal (United) expelled party's spokesperson Ajay Alok, on June 15. Besides Alok, the party has also suspended general secretaries Anil Kumar and Vipin Kumar Yadav from primary membership. Reportedly, the leaders were accused for running programmes against the interest of the party. "The decision has been taken to strengthen the party and maintain discipline in the party," said Bihar JD(U) chief Umesh Singh.

JD(U) Demands Action Against Tejashwi Yadav For Distributing Money
The JD(U) has demanded the Election Commission to ''take action'' against the RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav alleging him of breaking the code of conduct before the upcoming panchayat election in Bihar. The demand came after Yadav was seen distributing money to purportedly some ''poor women'' in Gopalganj. ''If helping the poor and being sensitive amounted to a violation of rules, the party will not mind such violations,'' said RJD.

MP Ramchandra Prasad Singh Appointed As JD(U) National President
Bureaucrat turned politician Ramchandra Prasad Singh was appointed as JD(U)'s National President on December 27. The 62-Year-old is a Rajya Sabha MP and has served previously as national secretary of the party. Reportedly, he had been referred by outgoing-president Nitish Kumar and was approved unanimously in the party meeting. The meeting was called by JD(U) after six of its seven MLAs joined BJP in Arunachal Pradesh.

6 Out Of 7 JD(U) MLAs In Arunachal Pradesh Join BJP
Six MLAs from Nitesh Kumar’s JD(U) have joined the BJP in Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier in November, three of them had been suspended for anti-party activities. While Bihar CM and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar said the party’s alliance with the BJP is confined to the state only, JD(U) general secretary KC Tyagi termed it "against the spirit of coalition politics". With this, the JD(U)’s strength in the 60-member assembly has come down to one.

Bihar: JD(U) Member Out For Morning Walk Killed By Two Gunmen
Two assailants gunned down a JDU member on December 6 in Bihar's Khagaria district. The incident occurred when the 42-year-old JDU member, Naresh Ram, was out for a morning walk. According to police, the deceased's body has been sent for an autopsy. Superintendent of Police Amitesh Kumar said that the motive behind the crime is not clear yet. Reportedly, a few days ago, a mukhiya's husband had been murdered in Khagaria.

3 Days After Taking Oath, Bihar Education Minister Resigns
Three days after taking charge as Bihar's new Education Minister, JD(U) MLA Mewalal Choudhury quit his position on November 19 owing to corruption allegations. Mewalal was earlier suspended from the Vice-Chancellor post of the Bihar Agriculture University in 2017 over a scam in job appointments. However, he stated that the allegations were not true as no charge-sheet was filed or a court had ordered against him.

Bihar: LJP Leader Chirag Paswan Asks People Not To Vote For JD(U)
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan has requested voters of Bihar not to vote for Janata Dal (United). He said that BJP and LJP will form a coalition government in the state after the elections. A day after leaving the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Paswan said that LJP MLAs will work under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
