Tamil Nadu: 18-year-old Takes Life Fearing Failure in NEET Examination

Scared of getting failed, an 18-year-old NEET aspirant Jyothi Sri Durga died by suicide in Madurai on September 12, a day before the exam. Reportedly, the deceased could not clear her examination last year. She left a suicide note stating her fears over failing in the exam, and mentioned that it's her decision. Earlier this week, another aspirant had also committed suicide on such grounds in Tamil Nadu.

Special Trains to Ply in Rajasthan, Aim to Help JEE and NEET Aspirants

Indian Railways on September 2 has decided to run four pairs of special trains in Rajasthan to help students taking JEE, NEET and NDA examinations. The trains are scheduled between September 4-15. These trains will operate on Udaipur-Jaipur, Jaipur-Bikaner, and Sri Ganganagar-Kota routes. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal gave the information through Twitter. JEE is scheduled from September 1-6; NDA on September 6; NEET on September 13.

Only 25% Appeared for JEE in West Bengal due to Covid-19: Mamata Banerjee

Gujarat: Amid COVID-19 Outbreak, 45% Aspirants Skip JEE Examination

Around 45% JEE Mains' candidates did not turn up at exam centres in Gujarat due to the COVID-19 blues. Out of 3,020 registered students, only 1,664 appeared on the first day of JEE examination held on September 1. Virendra Rawat, JEE coordinator Gujarat, said, "Normally, 25-30% students skip the exam every year. the percentage this year is higher by 10-15%." JEE 2020 examination is scheduled from September 1-6.

NTA Makes Special Arrangements to Conduct JEE, NEET 2020

The National Testing Agency has created a detailed protocol for conducting JEE and NEET in the view of the pandemic. According to the NTA, special arrangements have been made to conduct the exams while ensuring health safety guidelines. Odisha Govt: NEET And JEE Exam Cities To Remain Unlocked

The Odisha Government on August 29, declared that there would be no lockdown or shutdown enforcement in the cities conducting the NEET and JEE exams from August 30 to September 7 and from September 12 to 14. In an order issued by the Odisha Government, it has been issued that all the safety protocols regarding COVID-19 like social distancing and wearing masks would be ensured at the examination centres.

6 Non-BJP States File Review Petition in SC for Postponing JEE, NEET

Six non-BJP-ruled states on August 28 filed a review petition in the Supreme Court against its August 17 order, which allowed the Central government to hold the JEE and NEET examinations. The petition stated that the Apex court failed to notice complexities and crisis faced by the students and parents concerned. Earlier, the Supreme Court had dismissed the request of postponing the exams saying, "Life cannot be stopped."

National Testing Agency Reveals Blueprint For JEE Exam Preparation

The blueprint adopted by the NTA for JEE Main has issued 10 lakh masks and gloves, 1,300 infrared thermometer guns, 3,300 spray bottles, 6,600 litres of hand sanitizer, 6,600 sponges, and 3,300 cleaning staff.
