Droupadi Murmu Highlights Difficulties Of Prisoners Under Trials
During the inauguration of the Jharkhand HC building, the President of India Droupadi Murmu, highlighted the issue of prisoners under trial. Speaking of access to justice, she spoke about the rising number of cases are a burden to courts, as many cases are still pending, Prisoners and accused are crowding jails, as they are undertrials. "We (referring the whole society) should address the root cause of the problem, said Droupadi Murmu.

Jharkhand HC Summoned DGP Sinha, Orders To Submit Report Of Jharkhand Dumka Incident
The Jharkhand Court took a suo moto cognisance of the gruesome killing of a 16-year-old girl by her alleged stalker in Dumka, Jharkhand. The division bench of Chief Justice Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice Sujit Narayan summoned Jharkhand DGP Neeraj Sinha and ordered to submit incident details report. Notably, a teenager was burnt alive, after she rejected the proposal of a youth named Shah Rukh, currently under police custody.

RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav Gets Bail In Fodder Scam Case
Former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav has been granted bail in the Dandora-treasury-fodder-scam case. On April 22, the Jharkhand HC granted bail in Rs 139.35 crore case, on the grounds of health issues and yardstick half custody. Furthermore, the HC bench asked RJD Chief to deposit Rs 1 lakh surety and Rs 10 lakh fine amount to the court. Notably, Yadav was sentenced to 14-years imprisonment in this case.

Jharkhand HC Postpones Lalu Prasad's Bail Plea In Fodder Scam Case
In a disappointment to Rashtriya Janata Dal president Lalu Prasad Yadav, the HC has deferred his bail plea to April 1. Notably, the former Bihar CM has been convicted in five fodder scam case, during his tenure as the state CM. Recently, the CBI court found Yadav guilty and announced five year imprisonment and Rs. 60 lakh fine. However, Lalu Prasad Yadav filed a bail plea in the Jharkhand HC.
