Maharashtra Govt Lifts All COVID-19 Restrictions: Jitendra Awhad
In a relief to Maharashtra citizens, the Maha Vikas Aghadi Government announced to lift all COVID-19 curbs in the State. On March 31, minister Jitendra Awhad announced the decision, in light of the declining number of COVID-19 cases in the state. He also said, the people of Maharashtra are allowed to celebrate festivals; Ramzan, Gudipadwa and BR Ambedkar Birth Anniversary in April. Official notification will reportedly be issued soon.

MLAs Need To Pay For Houses Under Mumbai Project: Jitendra Awhad
Maharashtra Minister Jitendra Awhad clarified that no MLAs will be getting free houses under the 'New Mumbai Project'. After the Mahavikash Aghadi announced to construct houses for MLAs. He tweeted, "I would like to clarify that the homes will not be given for free. The land price + construction cost (expected expenses Rs 70 lakh) will be recovered from the MLAs concerned". Notably, MHADA will enforce the New Mumbai Project.

Maharashtra Invites New Bidders to Revamp Dharavi
Maharashtra government on August 27 has decided to invite fresh bids for redeveloping Asia's largest slum, Dharavi. However, this decision will scrap the existing tender, given in 2018, for Dharavi Redevelopment Project. Earlier, the state's Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad had also requested the CM for timely completion of the project. Reportedly, Dharavi residents have opposed the fresh bidding as it may delay the project further.
