Himachal Pradesh unit's BJP Vice President Praveen Sharma has passed away at the age of 65, on August 4 in Una district. Sharma breathed his last at his Amb kaswa residence, and is now survived by his wife and son. CM Jai Ram Thakur and BJP president JP Nadda expressed their grief over Sharma's demise. "I have lost my soul," said former CM Dhumal.

In order to boost the party's performance in the upcoming 2024 polls, BJP president JP Nadda is scheduled to officially launch the booth strengthening programme, on May 25. As part of the programme, 75,000 booths will be strengthened in more than 2,300 Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha seats across the country. Reportedly, the idea is to strengthen the weak booths in BJP ruled states, reported ANI.

The BJP-led Central Government approved 10 railway projects in Karnataka, under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. BJP's National president JP Nadda stated that Himachal Pradesh's CM Jai Ram Thakur will continue to be the CM if BJP wins the upcoming state assembly elections, later this year. He further stated that other than 10-15% of the ministers, everyone will be retained. "BJP will contest the Assembly Elections under his leadership (Jai Ram Thakur)," JP Nadda told the reporters.

To investigate the Birbhum Violence Case, the BJP formed a five-member committee, which submitted its report to the BJP National President JP Nadda. On March 30, the fact-finding committee, which recently visited Birbhum, West Bengal, and probed the killings of eight people, after the political outrage amid TMC leader's murder. Meanwhile, the Calcutta HC directed the WB SIT to hand over the case to the CBI, which named 21 accused.
