During the inauguration of the Jharkhand HC building, the President of India Droupadi Murmu, highlighted the issue of prisoners under trial. However, it is uncertain if Shantanagoudar had contracted the coronavirus. Earlier, he was the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court and then was elevated as a judge of the Supreme Court on February 17, 2017.
