Karnataka Govt Promises To Eradicate Malaria By 2025

Karnataka health minister K Sudhakar said that the centre has given time till 2030 to eradicate Malaria completely. However, the state government has taken a resolution to make Karnataka Malaria-free by 2025. K Sudhakar directed officials to visit places were Malaria is of high risk, and conduct awareness programs. He further stated that, for this, the government needs assistance from non-governmental organisations and the public.

Karnataka Reports Third Case Of Omicron: COVID-19

Karnataka on December 12 reported its third case of COVID-19's new variant, Omicron. K Sudhakar, the Health Minister of Karnataka, said, "A 34-year-old returnee from South Africa has tested positive. He is isolated and being treated at a government hospital.'' His five primary and 15 secondary contacts have also undergone the test for the variant. Besides, Andhra Pradesh and Chandigarh also reported their first case of the variant.

281 Test COVID Positive At Karnataka's SDM College; Health Minister Issues Curbs

Karnataka's health minister, K Sudhakar, announced on November 27 that SDM College of Medical Sciences in the state's Dharwad district has become a Covid-19 cluster, with 281 people on campus testing positive. Schools and institutions within a 500-meter radius of SDM college have been closed and surrounding areas have sanitized. According to reports, eight ambulances at college are on standby, and visitors to the campus have been limited.

Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa Cautions State People On Imposing Lockdown

Amid crossing 10,000 COVID-19 cases reported in Karnataka on April 11, CM BS Yediyurappa cautioned the state people on imposing lockdown if failed to cooperate. The state Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said that it is expected to have 25,000-30,000 COVID-19 cases by April end. The government is not willing to impose lockdown but do not compel us with non-cooperation, said Ministers cautioning the state people.
