Taliban Gives Permission To Turkey, Qatar To Run Kabul Airport

Kabul International Airport and four other airports in Afghanistan will jointly be operated by Turkey and Qatar, according to the media reports. The development came after both countries signed an agreement with the Taliban government on the management of the airports. They will now send their delegations to Afghanistan to start the joint work on the airports, reported UNI

60 Afghans Killed In Kabul Airport Blasts, ISIS Claims Responsibility

Terrorist group Islamic State (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the suicide bomb attacks at the gates of the Kabul airport on August 26 that killed at least 72 and injured 143. The US has confirmed that 13 US troops, including 12 Marine soldiers and one Navy medic were also killed. The attacks halted the airlift of the domestic and foreign nationals who were trying to flee Afghanistan.

13 Killed, 15 Injured At Kabul Airport; India Condemns Attack

India strongly condemned the bomb blasts at Kabul Airport on August 26 that claimed 13 lives and leaving 15 injured. The external affairs ministry also said, ''The Attacks reinforce the need for the world to stand unitedly against terrorism.'' Reportedly, among the 13 deceased, 10 are American soldiers, and the toll is expected to increases. However, no group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.

Western Countries Warn Citizens To Leave Kabul Airport Citing Terrorist Threat

Fearing a terrorist threat, many western countries have warned their nationals to stay away from the Kabul airport, currently swarmed with increasingly desperate people trying to flee Afghanistan. Nearly 90,000 citizens and foreigners have fled the country since the Taliban took over on August 15. US To Soon Complete Evacuation If Taliban Cooperates: Joe Biden

Referring to the murder of an Afghan guard at the Kabul airport, US President Joe Biden said on August 24 "we are making every effort to complete our evacuation mission in Afghanistan by August 31". Speaking at the White House, he also added, ''The completion by August 31 depends upon the Taliban continuing to cooperate.'' Biden informed that the US managed to evacuate 70,700 people since August 14.

1 Afghan Guard Killed & 3 Injured While Fighting At Kabul Airport

One Afghan guard died and three got wounded in a gunfight with the US, German, and other Afghan fighters against unidentified attackers at Kabul airport in Afghanistan on August 23. Meanwhile, the German Joint Forces Operations Command tweeted, ''At the North Gate of Kabul airport, One Afghan security force member was killed and three others wounded.'' Notably, all the foreign forces will leave Afghanistan by August 31.
