Maangalya Shopping Mall Launches Its First Store In Kadapa: Andhra Pradesh

The Maangalya Shopping Mall, launched its first store in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, on December 12. One of the largest family-owned textile kingdoms launched its 11th Maangalaya showroom in the Telugu State. In the last two years, they have launched eight stores. Actress Samantha and AP Deputy CM Amzath Basha inaugurated the shop in presence of owner PN Murthy. The store is of four floors, spread acros 25,000 sq ft.

Flood Cuts Rail, Road Routes Between South & East Andhra Pradesh

Owing to heavy floods in the Penna river the main road and rail link between the south and east of Andhra Pradesh was cut on November 21. The National Highway-16 connecting Chennai to Kolkata has also been closed due to a heavy breach of road at Padugupadu. Reportedly, a heavy deluge also disrupted the bus services at Nellore RTC bus station. A bridge on the Papagni river also collapsed.

Andhra Police Arrests CM Reddy's Relative In Mining Explosion Case

The Andhra Police on May 11 arrested YS Pratap Reddy, a relative of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, in the limestone quarry explosion case in Kadapa that had killed 10 labourers. The explosion had taken place when gelatin sticks, an explosive substance meant for mining, was being unloaded from a car. Reportedly, Pratap holds license for the explosives and his name popped up after they were traced back to him.
