UP: Gorakhpur Police Names Dr Kafeel Khan As History Sheeter
UP’s Gorakhpur Police have included Dr Kafeel Khan’s name along with 80 other in the district's history-sheeter list. Reportedly, Dr Kafeel’s history-sheet was opened on June 18, 2020 but brought in public domain on January 29. After inclusion, Khan will be monitored by the police on regular basis. UP: Dr Kafeel Cleared of NSA Charges; Allahabad High Court Orders His Release
The Allahabad High Court on September 1 directed the UP government to release Dr. Kafeel Khan immediately, who was booked under the National Security Act (NSA). Kafeel was charged NSA in February for an alleged provocative anti-CAA speech at Aligarh Muslim University. The judgement was delivered by a division Bench, comprising Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh, on the petition filed by Dr. Kafeel's mother.
