Kangra

In Himachal Pradesh's Kangra, a Chakki bridge collapsed, confirmed the Additional District Magistrate on August 21. In addition, a flash flood also hit the mandi region of the state, causing trouble to the residents, as water entered their houses and shops in the Kangra district. The Kangra ADM Rohit Rathore is supervising the situation and asked for the rescue of people in the low-lying region, affected due to floods.

Veteran congress leader and sitting MLA of Himachal Pradesh assembly Sujan Singh Pathania passed away on February 12, after prolonged illness. The 77-year-old Congressman was a seven-time MLA and a sitting Minister at HP cabinet. A 32-year-old was gang-raped in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, by seven men who had offered her a lift, while she was waiting at a bus stop. According to the victim's complaint, the group of men raped her twice, first by taking her to a poultry farm and later to a hotel in Mcleodganj. Police have arrested the seven accused and the owner of the hotel. The victim's medical reports are awaited.
