Kanhaiya Kumar Takes Away AC From Patna's CPI Office After Joining Congress
Ahead of joining Indian National Congress Party on September 28, Kanhaiya Kumar reportedly took away the AC installed by him in the CPI's state office in Patna. The CPI Bihar state secretary, Ram Naresh Pandey, confirmed that they gave the consent as it was installed by Kanhaiya Kumar at his own cost. Kumar joined Congress Party today in Delhi in the presence of Rahul Gandhi.

Gujarat MLA Mevani, Kanhaiya Kumar Joins Congress Party In Rahul Gandhi's Presence
Independent Gujarat MLA from the Vadgam constituency, Jignesh Mevani and CPI leader and former JNU Students' Union President Kanhaiya Kumar on September 28 joined the Indian National Congress Party in the presence of Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. Kumar had joined CPI ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election. Posters welcoming him in Congress were seen outside the Congress office in Delhi earlier today.

Congress Likely To Induct Kanhaiya Kumar & Jignesh Mewani
Former JNU students' Union President and CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani are expected to join the Congress party on September 28. Reportedly, Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi wishes to rope in young faces in the party to garner the support of youth voters. However, some party leaders are against Kumar due to his association with controversies at JNU in 2016.

Kanhaiya Kumar Meets With Rahul Gandhi, Might 'Jump Ship'
Kanhaiya Kumar, former JNU Union President and CPI Leader met Rahul Gandhi on September 14, allegedly to discuss his entry into Congress. Reportedly, the leader has been feeling much suffocation with his current party. D Raja, CPI general secretary commented on the subject saying "he has heard only speculations about the matter". Moreover, there is also news about Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani being in touch with Congress.

Kanhaiya, 9 Others Issued Summons In 2016 JNU Sedition Case
The Delhi High Court on February 15 summoned all the accused, including Kanhaiya Kumar, in 2016 JNU sedition case for March 15. The Delhi Police's chargesheet has claimed that Kanhaiya led his counterparts for anti-India slogans on JNU campus in 2016 at an event marking terrorist Afzal Guru's execution. Reportedly, the trial was stalled earlier due to spat between the BJP and AAP as the former accused the latter of shielding the students.
