Kanpur Teacher Assaulted By Parents Over Harsh Punishment To Kid, Video Goes Viral

A video is surfacing on the micro-blogging site, X in which a man, along with a few others barged into a teacher's office and thrashed one of the teachers. The incident is of Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, where a teacher was being assaulted, forced a student to do sit-ups as punishment. Following this the student told this to his parents, to which his father gets aggressive in the school.

1984 Anti-Sikh Riots: 5 Persons Arrested For Burning Down Building Which Charred 3 Persons To Death

In connection to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Kanpur, five more persons have been arrested by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Uttar Pradesh police, on June 23. The 1984 anti-Sikh riots claimed the lives of 127 people. The recently arrested accused were allegedly responsible for burning down a house which charred three people to death. The accused have now been sent to a 14-day judicial custody.

IIT Kanpur Student Drowned In Ganga, Confirms UP Police

In Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, an IIT student identified as Chanchal Kumar Meena drowned to death in River Ganga, confirmed police on June 19. As per PTI,  ACP Kernalganj Tirpurari Pandey said, "Two students of IIT Kanpur had drowned while taking bath in river Ganga.  One of them was saved, while the other one drowned." Notably, a group of 10 IIT-Kanpur students went to the Atal Ghat at the Ganga Barrage.

Kanpur Clash: Violence Erupts Between Police & Members Of Minority Community In UP

In Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, violence broke out in the Becongunj area near Yatimkhana, between member of a minority community and police, on June 3. Reportedly the violence erupted after police baton-charged the locals. Around six persons were injured in the clash, and at least two shots were fired in during the incident. 2 UP Cops Terminated For Tipping Off Vikas Dubey In 2020 Bikru Massacre Case

Uttar Pradesh policemen Vinay Tiwari and KK Sharma have been terminated from service after being convicted for tipping off Kanpur gangster Vikas Dubey about the raid, which led to the death of eight police personnel in 2020. Reportedly, the officers informed Dubey about the impeding raid against him, giving him a leverage to plan an ambush against the police. Dubey and his alliances were all killed in police encounters later.

Amid a fresh wave of communal violence across India, devotees in Kanpur are sending out a message of religious harmony. In Kanpur's Tatmil Chowk, a Hanuman temple and a mosque share one common entrance. A temple priest shared, "Aarti and Azaan take place with cooperation of both communities." Owaisi, who also visits the mosque to offer prayers, says that there is a sense of brotherhood among all the devotees there.
