Congress Leaders Pay Tribute To Rajiv Gandhi, Ahead Of Bharat Jodo Yatra
Rahul Gandhi and senior Congress leaders paid floral tribute to former PM of India the late Rajiv Gandhi, on September 7. The tribute was in the view of beginning of "Bharat Jodo Yatra' from Tamil Nadu. The hyped campaign of the Indian National Congress will begin from Kanyakumari, covering 3,500 kilometres in nearly 150 days. The rally will begin at 5 pm, with a mega rally, eyeing 2024 General elections.

Indian Fisherman Dies In Indonesian Prison; Family Suspects Foul Play By Authorities
Indian fisherman Maria Jasindhas (34) who was arrested for allegedly trespassing into the Indonesian waters, has died in an Indonesian prison, due to illness, on May 20. Chenab Arch Nears Completion, Bridges Distance Between Kashmir, Kanyakumari
Construction of the Chenab arch which is an integral part of the world's highest railway bridge will be completed on April 5. Reportedly, the arch is dubbed as the most taxing engineering task in the completion of the 1,400-crore bridge over the Chenab river flowing 359 meters below. Moreover, this development paves way for the completion of the long-overdue Kashmir rail track, enabling trains from Kanyakumari to reach Kashmir.

Army Officer Sets Out To Run 4,000 Km From Srinagar To Kanyakumari
Velu P, an Indian Army athlete, on April 1 commenced a 4,000-Km running expedition from Srinagar to Kanyakumari. With "green India" and "one nation one spirit" mottos, Velu eyes to reach his destination in maximum 50 days to enter the Guinness Records. Already mentioned in the Limca Book for his 1,600-Km run in 2020, Velu having a 15-year-long running career dedicated the mission to his late teammate LL Meena.

Tamil Nadu Polls: Ruling AIADMK Allots 20 Seats To BJP
The AIADMK has allocated 20 assembly seats alongside the Kanyakumari Lok Sabha seat to the BJP in the upcoming polls in Tamil Nadu. Earlier, the Dravidian party had designated 23 seats to its regional ally Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK).
