Karnataka CET 2022 Dates Announced; Here's How To Register

The Common Entrance Test (CET) 2022 in Karnataka will be conducted on June 16,17 and 18, said Minister of Higher Education CN Ashwath Narayan. Aspirants who wish to take up the exam can enroll online between April 5 to 20. The last date to pay the exam fee is reportedly April 22. CET is an eligibility test to seek admission for professional courses in Karnataka.

Former CM Yediyurappa Hands Over Rs 25 Lakh To Bajrang Dal Activist's Family: Karnataka

Former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa handed over Rs 25 lakh cheque to the Bajrang Dal activist Harsha's family who was murdered in February. So far, 10 people are held by police in connection with the murder of a 26-year-old. Earlier, on February 28, all educational institutes reopened after one week. However, due to the murder of Harsha, the educational institutes were closed and Section 144 was extended till March 4.

OxyBus Launched In Bengaluru To Help COVID-19 Patients

To help COVID-19 patients, Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa on May 11 launched the ‘OxyBus’ initiative. The makeshift buses fitted with piped oxygen supplies can support eight patients at a time. CM Yediyurappa said “20 such units will be set up near Govt Hospitals and Triage Centres in Bengaluru, and more units will be set up across the state." The initiative is to ensure transparency and timely medical help, he added.

Karnataka CM Announces 3-week Mid-term Break As COVID Cases Rise

Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa announced that schools in the state will go for a three-week mid-term break from October 12-30. The order came after several teachers and students tested positive for COVID-19 in the state. Reportedly, the Vidyagama program, under which teachers visit the areas of public school students to teach them, will also be halted. Earlier, the CM was criticised for cancelling the scheduled mid-term break.
