Security Forces Seize 477 Kg Ganja In Assam's Karbi Anglong

In Assam's Karbi Anglong district, police seized 477 Kg ganga from a truck, on July 17. The incident occurred in the Bokajan town, and driver Ram Chandra Yadav (57), was arrested. Upon receiving a piece of confidential information, the security forces set up a temporary check post at Khakrajan area. Reportedly, the truck which was intercepted, was coming from Dimapur side of Nagaland.

Suspected Drug Peddler Shot While Allegedly Trying To Flee From Police Custody: Assam

A suspected drug peddler in Assam's Karbi Anglong, was shot in the leg while allegedly trying to escape from police custody, on April 19. Reportedly, the accused who was arrested for the possession of 100 grams of drugs, was being taken to apprehend his associate from Dimapur. According to the police, when the vehicle stopped, the accused tried to flee, and after repeated warnings, the police took "action".

Drug Trafficker Shot In Leg For Attacking Cops & Escaping From Custody

In Assam's Karbi Anglong district, a drug trafficker was shot in the leg in order to stop him from escaping. The incident occurred on March 24 when Bimal Paul was taken under police custody for possession of half a kilo of heroin in 40 soapboxes. Paul reportedly attacked the policemen and freed himself from the custody. Acting on a tipoff, the police set up a checkpost and arrested him.

Assam Police Recovers Warlike Stores & Weapons From Passenger Bus

In Assam's Karbi Anglong, Assam Rifles and Assam Police in a joint operation recovered several warlike stores and weapons in a passenger bus on March 17. The police recovered two factory-made 32 pistols, two magazines, two sets of walkie talkie from a box. "The owner of the bag has not boarded the bus. The bus was destined to Mon district, Nagaland," SDPO John Das said. Further investigation is underway.
