Karnataka To Have India's First Marian To Boost Coastal Tourism

In order to boost coastal tourism in Karnataka, the BJP-led State Government is going to construct India's first Marina which will be constructed at Byndoor in the Udupi district. Karnataka CM Assures Legislation To Mandate Kannada Language

SC Bench To Hear Hijab Ban Row Plea On August 29

 The Supreme Court will hear a batch of appeals challenging the Karnataka High Court's order which had upheld the state government's order to ban hijabs in school and college classrooms. On August 29, the Apex Court bench-led by new Chief Justice of India (CJI) UU Lalit will hear the Hijab ban plea. The bench will also have justices Hemant Gupta and Sudhanshu Dhulia.

Karnataka Govt Mandates Singing National Anthem In Schools, Colleges

Karnataka Government mandates singing the "national anthem" in schools and colleges in the State. The order dated August 17 is applicable to all government, aided and private schools and pre-university colleges. The order cites Section 133(2) of the Karnataka Education Act, which gives the government the power to issue directions, making singing the national anthem mandatory for school students during the mass prayers every morning.
