Haryana Police Arrest Man With 6 Illegal Pistols In Jind District

In Haryana's Jind district, a man has been arrested for the possession of six illegal pistols and a live cartridge, on May 6. The accused has been identified as Happy alias Kashi, a resident of Alewa. Sportsperson of Haryana police said that, "when searched, two 30 bore pistols and four 32 bore pistols, were retrieved from his possession". The arrest has come after the police was tipped off about Kashi.

Kashi's Akshayvat Tree Gets Uprooted; Devotees Create Row

Akshayvat tree of Kashi, one among India's three and believed to be holding ground since Treta Yuga, fell down on April 28, creating a ruckus among the devotees. Many alleged that it was the construction company, responsible for Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, that deceitfully uprooted the tree. Meanwhile, some locals said the tree grew in a haphazard way and fell over its own weight as it leaned on the nearby walls.

'1913 Stolen Annapurna Idol' to be Repatriated from Canada

An idol of Hindu Goddess Annapurna, which was stolen in 1913, is expected to be deported from an art gallery in Canada's Thomas Chase University to Kashi, soon. The idol had a virtual repatriation ceremony which was attended by India's High Commissioner to Canada and the varsity's Vice-Chancellor.
