PM Modi Set To Visit Kedarnath Says Uttarakhand BJP President

Uttarakhand BJP president Madan Kaushik on October 15 said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Kedarnath on November 9. However, he said further details about the visit will be announced later. Reportedly, PM Modi will be visiting the temple for the second time after 2019. The visit is also being considered very important for the party as the Uttarakhand assembly election will be held in February 2022.

PM Modi To Performs First Rudrabhishek At Kedarnath; Open For Virtual 'Darshan'

Owing to the worsening condition due to the pandemic, the Kedarnath Dham Temple in Uttarakhand was reopened for virtual darshan on May 17. Reportedly, the first Rudrabhishek was performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the temple was decorated with 11 quintal flowers for the first pooja. Meanwhile, the Badrinath temple will also be reopened at 4:15 am on May 18 for virtual darshan.

Uttarakhand Govt Suspends Char Dham Yatra Amid COVID Threat

Amid looming COVID threat, the Uttarakhand government has cancelled the Char Dham Yatra scheduled to begin on May 14, 2021. CM Tirath Singh Rawat said that only priests of the four pilgrimage sites in Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri will be allowed to perform religious rituals. While portals of Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath temples will soon open for pilgrims, the temple will open at Brahmamuhurt on May 18.

Helicopter Service Resumes In Kedarnath; 2,500 Bookings Received
