Swapna Suresh Files Anticipatory Bail Plea In Conspiracy Case: Kerala
Swapna Suresh has filed an anticipatory bail plea at Kerala High Court in a conspiracy case filed against her. The case was filed by MLA and former Minister KT Jaleel. Swapna Suresh, the prime accused in Kerala gold smuggling case, was booked on June 8, on Jaleel's complaint, seeking probe into the allegations she made against him. The case was filed under Section 153 and 120B of IPC.

Kerala Gold Smuggling Case: ED Interrogates Swapna Suresh For Second Consecutive Day
In the 'Kerala Gold Smuggling case', prime accused Swapna Suresh appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED), at Kochi, for interrogation. The second consecutive day interrogation on June 23 reportedly lasted for six hours. Swapna Suresh is being interrogated with respect to her 164 statement at court and for her allegations against CM Pinarayi Vijayan and family. The case came to light in 2019, after 30 kg gold was busted.

Couple Smuggling Gold Arrested At Mangaluru Airport
Mangaluru Air Customs officials arrested a couple travelling inbound from Dubai in Air India on March 27 for smuggling gold worth Rs 39.48 lakh. Reportedly, the women hailing from Cheroor in the Kasargod district of Kerala carried the gold weighing 851 grams in powdered form mixed with a solid gum hidden in her inner garment. Kerala: 140 Kg Of Ganja Seized In Ernakulam; 3 Arrested
Ernakulam district officials in Kerala on November 25 seized about 140 kg of ganja. In two separate operations, the officials seized 105 kg of ganja from Angamaly and 35 kg from the Ernakulam Rural. Ansal, Nizar and Chanthu, the three smugglers apprehended, are believed to be wholesale drug smugglers. "We have already launched a probe and more people are suspected to be involved," said Ernakulam (Rural) Police chief K. Karthik.

NIA Hints of Dawood Ibrahim's Involvement in Kerala Gold Smuggling Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on October 14 told the special court that the accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case might have links with the mobster Dawood Ibrahim. The NIA cited that the two accused, M Sharafuddin and KT Ramees had visited Dawood's network area Tanzania, Africa. Reportedly, Ramees has confessed about his intentions of setting up a diamond business in Tanzania.

Kerala Secretariat Complex Fire: Parties Allege 'Gold Smuggling Case' Foul Play
Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) have alleged foul play in the Kerala Secretariat fire incident in Thiruvananthapuram. They staged a protest outside the office on August 25, claiming it was "a conspiracy to destroy evidence related to the gold smuggling case". BJP state president K Surendran has demanded a probe into the fire. While Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala had blamed the incident on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
