Neeraj Chopra Honored With Major Dhyan Chnad Khel Ratna award
Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, the gold medal winner at Tokyo Olympics, was honored with the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award by President Ram Nath Kovind on November 13 in New Delhi. Besides, Wrestler Ravi Kumar, Boxer Lovlina Borgohain, Hockey player Sreejesh PR and Manpreet Singh also received the award. Para-athletes such as Avani Lekhara, Pramod Bhagat, Krishna Nagar, Manish Narwal, and Sumit Antil received the award.

Neeraj Chopra Thanks Everyone After Being Nominated For Khel Ratna Award
After being named for the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award, Neeraj Chopra on November 3 thanked everyone saying, ''I'll continue to work to achieve more success for the country.'' Neeraj, who won the gold medal in men's javelin in the Tokyo Olympics, is among the 12 sportspersons who have been nominated for the award. The award will be conferred to the sportspersons on November 13 in New Delhi.

Khel Ratna Award Renamed As 'Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award'
PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter on August 6 and announced, ''I've been getting many requests from citizens...the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award will hereby be called the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award.'' Dhyan Chand is known for winning gold in the 1928, 1932, and 1936 Olympics. The announcement was made a day after the Indian men's hockey team won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
