Arjun Ram Meghwal Replaces Kiren Rijiju As Law Minister Of India

In a shocking reshuffle, the Union Government led by BJP replaced the Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju and appointed Arjun Ram Meghwal as the new Union Law Minister. After removing Rijiju from Law Ministry, the BJP Government moved him to the Earth and Science Ministry. The decision was taken by the Union Government, and Rashtrapati Bhavan issued a statement in this regard.

Kiren Rijiju Shares View On 'Same-Sex Marriage Issue

Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju gave his statement on the recent same-sex marriage controversial issue. On March 18, addressing the media, Kiren Rijiju said, " same-sex marriage is a matter that should be left to the wisdom of the people of the country."  He said, "The Supreme Court has its own authority. With this new addition, the total strength of the Apex Court judges increased to 34. Union Govt Approves Appointment Of 2 HC Judges As Chief Justices Of HC

Justice PB Varale of the Bombay High Court was elevated as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court while Justice AM Magrey, a judge of the Jammu and Kashmir HC, was appointed its chief justice. In addition, incumbent Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir HC Justice Pankaj Mithal was transferred to the Rajasthan High Court in the same capacity. The announcement was made by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju.

44th Chess Olympiad To Be Held In Chennai, India From July 28 To August 10

Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju on June 20 said hosting the 44th Chess Olympiad is a tremendous opportunity for India and that the torch relay ignition would take place in India every two years. India is hosting the Chess Olympiad for the first time. Union Minister Assures Normalcy In Kashmir Amid Attacks On Minorities

Additional Solicitor General Of India Aman Lekhi Resigns With Immediate Effect

The Additional Solicitor General of India Aman Lekhi, tendered his resignation letter to the Supreme Court, on March 4, with immediate effect. Although, the letter addressed to the Union Law and Justice Minister of India Kiren Rijiju, doesn't specify the reason behind the sudden resignation.
