4 Indigenous Sports Added To Khelo India Youth Games 2021
The Sports Ministry has included four indigenous games for the upcoming 2021 Khelo India Youth Games to be held in Haryana. The new games include Kalaripayattu from Kerala, Mallakhamba from MP and Maharashtra, Gatka from Punjab and Thang-Ta from Manipur. Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said, "It is a priority for the Sports Ministry to preserve, promote and popularise these games." The move came a day after yogasana was added to the list.

Avinash Sable Becomes First Indian To Complete Half Marathon Under 61 Mins
Steeplechase runner Avinash Sable has set a new national record by finishing the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon in 1 hour and 30 seconds. The Tokyo Olympics bound has won gold among Indian elite runners and became the first Indian to run a half marathon under sixty-one minutes. Ethiopian Amedework Walelegn had won the men's elite race in 58:53 minutes. Earlier, the event was inaugurated by Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju.

Ailing Hockey Player Gets Financial Help Of Rs 10 Lakh By Sports Ministry
Battling with a chronic kidney disease, former hockey Olympian Mohinder Pal Singh was given a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh under Pandit Deendayal Upadhaya National Welfare Fund for Sportspersons.
