Selected Fruits and Vegetables Granted 50% Subsidy in Kisan Rails

Food Processing and Railways Ministries have together decided to grant a 50% subsidy for transporting selected fruits and vegetables in the Kisan Rail, with immediate effect. South India’s First Kisan Rail Flagged Off from Andhra Pradesh

South India’s first 'Kisan Rail’ was flagged off virtually by Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy on September 9. The train, from Andhra Pradesh to Delhi, will carry horticultural produces and will help farmers by cutting 25% post-harvest losses. Country's First 'Kisan Rail' Hits Tracks On Maharashtra-Bihar Route

India's first 'Kisan Rail' train has been set forth on the route from Deolali in Nashik to Danapur in Bihar on August 7. The train will help in bringing perishable agricultural products to the market in a lesser duration, which will reduce the transport charges and support farmers in getting the right price for their crops. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurated the train service through video conferencing.
