Eoin Morgan Leads KKR; Dinesh Karthik Steps Down To Focus On Batting

Kolkata Knight Riders' team management on October 16 announced that England's Eoin Morgan will replace Dinesh Karthik as the team's captain. Subsequently, Morgan will lead the franchise for the rest of the IPL 2020. Reportedly, Karthik stepped down to focus on his batting and make more contributions to the team. Under Karthik's captaincy, the team stood at the fourth position in the points table with four wins and three losses.

Awadh’s Last Ruler Nawab Wajid Ali Shah's Great-Grandson Passes Away

Mirza Kaukub Qadr, the great-grandson of the last ruler of Awadh Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and an ex-professor of the Aligarh Muslim University, died at 87 in Kolkata on September 13. He is survived by his wife from Lucknow’s Khandaan-e-Ijtehaad family, and six children. He will be buried at his family burial ground Gulshanabad in Kolkata. He had worked as a research consultant for Satyajit Ray’s film ‘Shatranj ke Khilari’.

Fast bowler Ali Khan has joined the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on September 12, replacing England's Harry Gurney, who is set to undergo shoulder surgery. Khan is the first-ever American to join the series and was on the radar of the KKR management team after he played the CPL under a franchise which has common owners as that of KKR.
