Vande Bharat Express Train Clocks 180 Kmph In Test Run
During a test run of the new Vande Bharat Express train, the train crossed 180 kmph, on August 26. “The two-speed trial started between Kota-Nagda section at 120/130/150 and 180 kmph,” tweeted Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The semi-high-speed Vande Bharat trains come with A/C chair car coaches and automatic doors. The test version of the train reportedly had 16 coaches, and went through six phases of trial.

Schools In Rajasthan's Kota & Bundi Districts To Be Closed On August 23 Due To Severe Rainfall
As the state of Rajasthan continues to experience severe rains, schools in the Kota and Bundi districts will be closed on August 23. District administration and the government made the decision to extend the holiday due to a flood-like situation in both districts. Additionally, the IMD has issued a warning regarding isolated sections of Rajasthan's eastern and western regions experiencing severe rain.

Apna Ghar Ashram Food Poisoning: 3 Dead, 15 Hospitalised In Rajasthan
In Rajasthan's Apna Ghar Ashram, three people died and at least 15 others were hospitalised due to food poisoning, on July 25. The ashram is situated in Kota, and the people affected reportedly, consumed food at the ashram. After consuming food, three people started vomiting, and some did not wake up. District Collector Om Prakash Bunkar said that borewell water could be the reason. Further investigation is underway.

Child Marriage Case Registered In Kota, 1 Arrested & 5 Booked
In Kota's Jhalawar district, child marriage in the Gurjar community, which happened last week, was reported on May 2, confirmed police. The incident came to light after a short video clip of the minor-couple went viral. As of now, the police arrested one and booked five people under sections of the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act. Furthermore, a show-cause notice was sent to officials of the Rawasiya gram panchayat.

Congress MLA Bharat Singh Seeks Probe Into Death Of Crocodile: Rajasthan
Congress MLA Bharat Singh Kundanpur urged the Rajasthan Wildlife Board to probe the matter over the death of 50 crocodiles in Kota's Kala Talab, on March 6. Congress MLA wrote a letter and urged them to provide him with a detailed report. "We have neither received any information about crocodiles troubling local people nor their deaths," Yusuf Ali, a local resident said. The police launched an investigation, which is underway.

Massive Fire Breaks Out At Chemical Factory In Kota: Rajasthan
In Rajasthan's Kota, a massive fire broke out at a chemical factory on December 24. About five fire tenders, police officials and others rushed to the spot to douse the fire and control the situation. Residents near the city mall area, where the factory was located, were evacuated as part of the rescue operation. Luckily, no casualties have been reported, and the reason behind the fire is uncertain.

Rajasthan Govt Gives Nod For New Greenfield Airport In Kota
Rajasthan's Kota is expected to get a new greenfield airport as the state cabinet approved the development plan for the airport. As per sources, it also allotted free land for the airport. The new airport is expected to make travel easier for people. ''With this decision, economic activities would be strengthened,'' said the state government in its statement.

9 Infants Die At Kota's JK Lon Hospital In 2 Days; Probe Initiated
In Rajasthan's Kota district, nine infants have died since December 9 at a state-run JK Lon hospital. Reportedly, five infants had died on December 9 and four on December 10. Health Minister Raghu Sharma has ordered an investigation on the deaths and has warned the authorities of strict measures. Hospital Superintendent Dr SC Dulara has claimed though child-deaths happen, "nine deaths of newborns in 24 hours cannot be termed normal.”
