Kozhikode Nipah Virus: Kerala Govt Eases Lockdown Restrictions

With no new cases of Nipah Virus Infections in the past one week, the district authorities in Kerala's Kozhikode on Friday exempted all the wards of the nine panchayats in Vadakara Taluk from the containment zone and announced further relaxations in the remaining containment zones. Relaxations were also announced in all the wards of Feroke Municipality and seven wards of Kozhikode Corporation, which are within the containment zone

Customs Officials Arrest 2 IndiGo Staffers For Aiding In Gold Smuggling: Kerala

Two officials of the IndiGo airlines have been arrested by the customs department officials in Kerala’s Kozhikode International Airport (Karipur Airport) on September 15. The arrests have been made for alleged aiding in gold smuggling in the airlines. Reportedly, the accused allegedly helped in smuggling 4.9 Kg of gold worth Rs 2.5 crore. The gold was found in a passenger’s bag, who reportedly dropped it and fled.

Elderly Woman Succumbs To Rabies Infection Despite Being Vaccinated: Kerala

In Kerala’s Kozhikode, a 53-year-old woman has succumbed to suspected Rabies infection, informed sources on August 22. The deceased identified as P Chandrika, was intact vaccinated against Rabies infection. Reportedly, she was bitten by a dog on her face, on July 21. It was revealed that the dog had also bitten seven others in the same locality. Her final test reports are yet to be revealed.

Writer Civic Chandran (74) has been granted anticipatory bail by a sessions court in Kerala’s Kozhikode in a sexual harassment case. The court contended that the charges against the accused will prima facie not stand if the complainant was wearing a provocative dress.

Vlogger Rifa Mehnu's body has been exhumed from the cemetery, for the purpose of post-mortem, after her parents filed a complaint in Kerala's Kozhikode, against Rifa's husband for his alleged involvement in her death. Mehnu was found hanging in her flat in Dubai, on suspicious circumstances. The probe will now be extended after the post-mortem report. Mehnu's family has alleged that her husband physically and mentally tortured her.

Four Arrested In Kerala For Allegedly Raping 32-Year-Woman

Four rape-accused, who allegedly gang-raped a 32-year-old Kerala woman in Kozhikode's hotel room were arrested on Sept 11. Reportedly, the woman had raveled from Kollam to Kozhikode in Kerala to meet 26-year-old Ajnaz, one of the four men, whom she befriended through social media. According to the police, the woman was brought to the hotel at 11 PM where Ajnaz along with his friends raped her.
