Tragic Accident In Kerala's Palakkad Region Kills 9, Leaves 38 Injured
Nine people, including students, were killed and at least 38 were injured after a tourist bus hit Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in Kerala's Palakkad region. On October 6, Kerala Minister MB Rajesh confirmed the incident, saying the tourist bus was on its way to Ooty, whereas the KSRTC bus was heading to Coimbatore. Moreover, the police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to hospital.

Karnataka Government Asks Retired Drivers To Work Amid Transport Strikes
Karnataka government has welcomed eligible retired drivers below the age of 62 years to work on a contract basis as the transport strike in Karnataka intensifies. KSRTC to Cut Down Unnecessary Costs, Pay Salaries to Their Employees
Karnataka Government on September 1 released a relief package of Rs 423 crore for the Road Transport Corporations (RTC), and instructed them to pay salaries and not to buy new buses. The RTCs, which nosedived owing to the lockdown, had requested funds to pay salaries to their employees. The RTCs are also directed to cut down unnecessary posts. Low ridership even after the services were restored, affected their revenue.
