Bus Plunges Into Himachal Pradesh Valley, Killing 16 People, Including School Children

A private bus plummeted into Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district valley, killing 16 individuals, including school children on July 4. Ashutosh Garg, Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, said that the Sainj-bound bus crashed close to Jangla town at approximately 8.30 am. The injured were sent to a neighboring hospital, adding that district officials and rescue personnel had arrived on the scene. More information is awaited.

Districts In Himachal Pradesh Witnesses Snowfall; Tourists Enjoyed

Hilly areas in Himachal Pradesh such as Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu received moderate to heavy snowfall on December 6. It is expected that in the upcoming day's temperature will further drop, according to India Meteorological Department Head of HP, Surender Paul. "The temperature has already dropped in the areas to -3.4 degrees celsius," he said. However, tourists were seen enjoying the snowfall.

Himachal Pradesh: Police Issue 8 Challans to Illegal Miners

Himachal Pradesh Police Department reported that on carrying a surprise raid, Kullu police has issued eight challans under the Mining Act and collected Rs 52,300 as fines. Reportedly, Illegal mining has been rampant in areas near Vyas River. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, the police have issued four challans along with a fine of Rs 1,800- carrying out illegal mining. read-more

Hotel Owners in Himachal Pradesh to Offer Upto 50% Discounts On Bookings

The hotel owners in Parvati Valley, Himachal Pradesh have collectively decided to reopen hotels and start welcoming tourists from September 15. The hoteliers are offering discounts upto 50% to attract travelers and catalyze the industry. An official from the Kullu Hotel Association mentioned that around 300 hotels and home-stays will reopen soon while complying with all the SOPs issued by the government of Himachal Pradesh.
