Telangana: 14-Day Quarantine Mandatory For Kumbh Mela Returnees

People returning to Telangana from Haridwar Kumbh Mela will have to undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine as the state government has issued an order regarding the same. Besides, the government has also advised to symptomatic returnees to get tested immediately. Reportedly, the state's count for COVID patients has logged 3.79 lakh as 6,206 fresh cases emerged in a single day with 29 deaths taking the total fatality count to 1,928.

'Kumbh Is over' Says Niranjani Akhada; Community Demands Apology

Niranjani Akhada, one among the 13 Akhadas participating in the Kumbh is being forced to apologize for announcing its exit. Only the CM or the Kumbh mela officers have the rights to announce "an end to Kumbh," says Mahant Dharmdas, Nirvani Ani Akhada president. Following the death of Nirwani akhada's Mahamandaleshwar Kapil Dev Das, who died at the age of 65 due to COVID-19 on April 13, Niranjani akhada announced to exit the Haridwar Kumbh Mela, from April 17. The decision was made after the drastic increase in COVID-19 cases among the saints in Haridwar. According to a health official, 68 top seers of Haridwar have tested positive for Coronavirus between April 5 and 14.

World's Smallest Saint Becomes Centre Of Attraction In Kumbh Mela

World's smallest saint 'Narayan Nand Giri Maharaj' has become the centre of attraction in the ongoing 'Haridwar Kumbh Mela'. The 55-year-old saint, a regular Kumbh Mela visitor, has a height of just 18 inches and weighs around 18 Kg. "People seek his blessings and they feel very nice. They take selfies with him, offer prayers," said the saint's disciple named Umesh. The Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021 is set to end on April 30.
