Andhra Pradesh Flash Foods: 17 Dead, 100 Missing

Owing to the flash floods, at least 17 people lost their lives in Andhra Pradesh's Chittoor, Kadappa, Kurnool, and Anantapur districts on November 19. It's also reported that over 100 were washed away in the flood. The state government also deployed teams of the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF), fire department, and police for the rescue operation. Kadapa airport has also been closed till November 25.

Actor Sonu Sood Promises To Install 18 Oxygen Plants Across India

Actor-cum-philanthropist Sonu Sood has pledged to install 18 oxygen plants across India, starting from Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool and Nellore, and Karnataka's Mangalore. Kurnool Airport In Andhra Named After Freedom Fighter Uyyalawada Reddy

The Andhra Pradesh government has renamed the Kurnool Airport, inaugurated at Orvakal on March 25, after freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. A native of Kurnool, the freedom fighter had protested against the British rule 100 years before the independence. Andhra Pradesh: 14 Killed, 4 Injured In Bus-Truck Collision

In a tragic accident, a minibus carrying pilgrims collided with a truck leaving 14 dead and four injured. The incident took place in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district on February 14. Reportedly, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed on to median before crashing into a truck on the other side. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi conveyed his condolences to the departed souls and wished a speedy recovery for injured.

Andhra Pradesh: 47 Injured in Banni Utsavam Despite Ban

Despite the ban imposed by Andhra Pradesh on the annual stick fighting festival Banni Utsavam due to COVID-19, a total of 47 people were injured during the ritual held in Devaragattu village on October 27 on the night of Vijayadasami. Thousands of people gathered on the Mala Malleshwara Swamy Temple even after the police tried to keep the crowd away. Post midnight, medical officials rushed to the spot to treat the injured.
