Cyclonic Storm Biparjoy Likely to Hit Kutch Coast After Extended Stay in Arabian Sea

Having existed as a cyclone over the Arabian Sea for almost 10 days, its prolonged duration raises concerns about the increasing frequency and severity of cyclonic storms in the region due to global warming. A study by scientists at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology in Pune reveals an 80% increase in the duration of cyclones in the Arabian Sea over the past four decades.

Gujarat ATS Seizes 70 Kg Of Heroin Worth Over Rs 350 Cr Near Mundra Port

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad on July 12 confiscated approximately 70 kilograms of heroin worth over Rs 350 crore from a container near the Mundra port in Kutch district. According to an official, the quantity and worth of the recovered contraband may increase as the search continues. The ATS searched a shipping container that had come from another nation and was being held at a container freight station outside the port.

Gujarat: Earthquake of 3.6 Magnitudes Witnessed in Kutch

Gujarat's Kutch district, a very high-risk seismic zone experienced a mild earthquake of 3.6 magnitudes on October 25 at 8:18 AM. Authorities from the Institute of Seismological Research, Gandhinagar claimed that the earthquake was detected with an epicentre 12 Km west-south-west of Anjar town in Kutch and had a depth of 19.5 Km. Reportedly, no injuries or destruction of property were recorded.
