Hyderabad Custom Officials Seize Gold Worth Rs 86 Lakhs From Woman Passenger

Hyderabad International Airport custom officers seized gold weighing over 1 kg, worth Rs 86 lakh from woman passenger. On June 16, a woman from Kuwait traveled to Hyderabad, when Air Intelligence Unit detected and seized the gold, concealed in paste form inside rectum, groin area and socks of the shoe, wrapped in a black plastic covering. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Kuwait Imposes Travel Ban On 9 African Nations Due To Omicron Variant

Kuwait suspended flight services with 9 African countries due to the new Covid-19 variant, named Omicron. Countries, including South Africa, Namibia, Bostwana, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho, Eswatini, Zambia, and Malawi won't have direct flight services from Kuwait. So far, six countries imposed travel bans on African countries. Kuwait Allows Women To Take Part In Military Services

In a step to empower women in the country, Kuwait allowed women to join the National Military Services on October 12. However, women will initially serve in the field of medical and military support. ''Kuwaiti women have proven their achievements in several fields,'' said Kuwait's Deputy PM and Defense Minister Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah. Earlier in 2008, Kuwait allowed women to join the police.

Kuwait Under Fire For Making Vaccination Difficult For Expats

Kuwait is under fire for prioritizing its own people for vaccination, leaving out the expatriate who make 70% of the country's population. The other Arab countries are in a race of vaccinating everyone to reach herd immunity, whereas the expatriates in Kuwait face huge struggle to get vaccinated. They blame it on the citizen-first policy of government. Kuwait has vaccinated its citizens at a rate six times higher than expatriates.

Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Crowned as New Ruler of Kuwait

Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah swore in as the new ruling emir of Kuwait on September 30 after the demise of the predecessor and half-brother Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah. Sheikh Nawaf, aged 83, took the oath at the National Assembly and promised to preserve the security of Kuwait. He had become the crown prince under Sheikh Sabah in February 2006.
