UP Sisters Death Case: 6 Arrested, 1 Shot In Leg During Encounter

In the “UP sisters death case,” police have arrested six persons for their alleged connection to the case, while one was shot in the leg during an encounter. The sisters belonged to the Scheduled Caste community, and were found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri on September 14. According to the police, the girls had a love affair with two of the accused.

Bodies Of 2 Minor Girls Found Hanging In Lakhimpur Kheri

In a Lakhimpur Kheri village, Uttar Pradesh, the bodies of two minor girls, belonging to the scheduled caste community, was found hanging on a tree. The villagers and family protested demanding justice for the girls, who were allegedly raped and murdered by three men. The police registered a case and took four accused into custody and launched an investigation. Further details are awaited and will be revealed after the postmortem.

Lakhimpur Kheri Case: Ashish Mishra Moves SC For Bail, Challenging Allahabad HC Order

Ashish Mishra, the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri case, has moved to Supreme Court for bail, after his plea was rejected by the Allahabad High Court. Mishra contended that there is no scope for him tamper with the evidence, since all 98 witnesses have been provided security. The charge-sheet filed against Mishra submitted that he had “pre-planned” the killing. Further details are awaited.

Lakhimpur Kheri Case: SKM To Stage 75-Hour Sit-In Protest Against Centre

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has announced to stage a 75-hour sit-in protest against the centre in Lakhimpur Kheri case on August 18. SKM is an umbrella group comprising of 40 farm organisations. The protesting farmers are demanding for the proper implementation of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. The farmers protests have witnessed a huge amount of violence since it began.

Son Beats Elderly Father To Death Over Money Issue: UP

Jagdish Prasad (65) was allegedly beaten to death by his own son Jitendra alias Darshan, on April 22. Prasad's wife Rameshwari stated that her husband sold a property to clear a loan. Her son demanded Prasad to hand over the money to him. The incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri, when Jitendra allegedly took the life of his father using a stick and a sickle, after a heated argument.

Ashish Mishra Released On Bail In Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Case

Union minister Ajay Kumar Mishra's son Ashish Mishra, has been released on bail after fulfilling conditions laid down by Allahabad High Court, on February 15. Reportedly, the bail was granted and conditions were stated a week before the release. Ashish Mishra has been jailed since October, 2020 for his involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence case, which witnessed the killing of four farmers.

Another Name Added In SIT's Chargesheet: Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Case

The Special Investigation Team filed a chargesheet in the Lakhimpur violence case, on December 3. The chargeesheet included another name in the case taking the tally of the arrested accused to 14. Ashish Mishra, the son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, has also been included. On October 3, eight people died after being crushed by an SUV allegedly belonging to Ashish Mishra.

Aahish Mishra To Be Interrogated In Crime Branch Office: UP Police

In the latest development in the Lakhimpur Kheri Violence case, the UP police has sent Union Minister Ajay Mishra's son Aahish Mishra to the Crime Branch office to start the further interrogation on October 12. A day ago, police received three-day remand of Ashish Mishra from the Chief Judicial Magistrate Chintaram. Notably, Aashish is accused of the violence, in which eight people, including four farmers, were killed.
