Lakhimpur Violence Accused Ashish Mishra Sent To Judicial Custody

Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni's son Ashish Mishra has been sent to judicial custody following his arrest in connection with Lakhimpur Kheri violence in Uttar Pradesh on October 9. However, a local will decide whether he'll be sent to police custody for three-day on October 11. Police have arrested two out of seven accused mentioned in the FIR. Notably, eight people died in the violence, including four farmers.

Akhilesh Yadav Visits Family Of Victim In Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: UP

Akhilesh Yadav, former CM of Uttar Pradesh paid a visit to the family of a farmer (Daljit Singh) who was killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Yadav demanded the resignation of Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Mishra Teni. "Untill the resignation is done, justice will not be given to these victims' families," he stated. He further stated that since Supreme Court has taken cognizance, justice will be delivered.

SC Expresses Disappointed Over UP Govt's Action: lakhimpur Kheri Case

After hearing the Lakhimpur Kheri case, the Supreme Court has expressed disappointment over the UP government's action in New Delhi. Furthermore, the Chief Justice of India N V Ramanna said, ''There is no action and just words...Because the persons involved''. The CJI also said the government should take action and directed the DGP to protect the evidence. The Court will next hear the case after Dusshera on October 20.

Journalist Raman Kashyap 1 Out Of 8 Killed In Lakhimpur Kheri

Raman Kashyap, son of Ram-Dulare-Kashyap, was killed in the violence that occurred at Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3. He spent the evening making desperate calls to find his son after discovering that a vehicle had driven over many people and bullets had been fired at the scene of a farmers' protest in Tikoniya that Raman was reporting. Police then informed Ram that his body had been transported to a morgue.

The yogi government has foiled the attempt of the Rahul Gandhi-led delegation to visit Lakhimpur Kheri on October 7 by denying them a pass. The delegation consists of Sachin Pilot, Charanjit Singh Channi, Bhupesh Baghel, and KC Venugopal. Reportedly, the government denied permission citing section 144 that was imposed in Lakhimpur Kheri. Notably, four farmers died after a car of Union Minister Ajay Mishra's son ran over them.

BJP leader Varun Gandhi on October 5 shared a video from his Twitter account and claimed it to be the video of Lakhimpur Kheri violence. He demanded action to be taken based on the video. The 25-second video shows an SUV running over the protesting farmers in UP. Notably, Congress leader Priyanka also tweeted the clip. Earlier, farmers' leaders had alleged the car belonged to Union Minister Ajay Kumar's son.

UP Govt To Provide Rs 45 Lakh As Compensation To Lakhimpur Farmers

In the latest development of the Lakhimpur violence case, the Uttar Pradesh government has on October 4 said that the compensation of Rs 45 lakh and a government job would be provided to the bereaved families of four farmers who died during the protest. Moreover, the injured ones will receive Rs 10 lakh. Reportedly, around eight people lost their lives among which four of them were BJP workers.
