SC Extends Interim Bail To Ashish Mishra In Lakhimpur Violence

The Supreme Court extended the interim bail of Ashish Mishra, an accused in the 2021 Lakhimpur Violence. On July 11, the Top Court bench comprising Justices Suryakant and Dipankar Dutta extended the interim bail to September 26, citing the ongoing trial into the violence. The bench comprising granted the bail and adjourned the matter to September 26. Notably, in 2021, eight people, including four farmers were mowed down by Mishra.

SC To Announce Ashish Mishra's Bail Cancellation Plea Verdict: Lakhimpur Violence

Judgment in regard to the cancellation of bail of Ashish Mishra, the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Violence is set to be pronounced on April 18. The Supreme Court bench led by NV Ramana will give a verdict after reviewing the plea filed by farmers at 10:30 am. Notably, the Allahabad HC granted bail to the BJP leader's son, who allegedly ran over SUV on eight people in Lakhimpur.

SC Appoints Committee For Lakhimpur Accident Case: Uttar Pradesh

The Supreme Court (SC,) formed a sub-committee for the Lakhimpur Violence case against BJP leader's son Ashish Teni. The court in its direction asked the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh Government to cancel the bail application of Ashish, as recommended by the SIT, which investigated the incident.  It is to be noted, that the BJP leader's son allegedly killed 8 people including 4 farmers in the Lakhimpur-Kheri region of Uttar Pradesh.

Another Name Added In SIT's Chargesheet: Lakhimpur Kheri Violence Case

The Special Investigation Team filed a chargesheet in the Lakhimpur violence case, on December 3. The chargeesheet included another name in the case taking the tally of the arrested accused to 14. Ashish Mishra, the son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, has also been included. On October 3, eight people died after being crushed by an SUV allegedly belonging to Ashish Mishra.
