Lakshya Sen Wins Gold Medal In Badminton Single's At Commonwealth Games 2022

Indian player Lakshya Sen followed PV Sindhu in winning the badminton men's singles final gold with a win over Ng Tze Yong of Malaysia at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on August 8. Lakshya made it to the men's singles final after beating Jia Heng Teh of Singapore in the semifinal and won a gold medal at the CWG, in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom.

India Wins The Thomas Cup For The First Time In 73 years, Creates History

India's men's badminton team made history by winning the Thomas Cup for the first time in 73 years, defeating Indonesia in the final. With Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, and Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, the world number 8 doubles team, India put on a show to remember. Sen gave India the lead over world number five Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. Srikanth then defeated Jonatan Christie, the Asian Games gold champion.

Badminton: Indian Shuttlers Pulled Out Of SaarLorLux Open

The Badminton World Federation on October 29 confirmed that Indian shuttlers Lakshya Sen, Ajay Jayaram, and Subhankar Dey withdrew from the SaarLorLux Open 2020 after being put in isolation. The precautionary measures were taken after the players came in contact with the COVID positive D.K Sen, father-cum-coach of Lakshya Sen. However, all three players have tested negative.
